    Unhappy Front seats to hard

    Hi all,
    I have a 02-td5-s, that has 79,000 on it, But since I broke my hip and need a knee replacement, I find the front seats to hard on a trip, Does anyone know of a replacement seat that fits the existing mounts ? Or approx cost of having the seats redone ?. I tied some up market second hand disco seats but they are still fairly hard & harder to get in good condition. The only other alternative might be to sell it ( bit my tongue for that) All help will be much appreciated, Regards to all John

    Have a look at some Range Rover Classic seats - I can't remember mine being as firm as the D2 seats when I had one all those years ago, and if anything's going to fit it should be them - they may need a little modification - I'm not sure if I've seen anyone do it on a D2, certainly been done on a D1 though.

    Hi John

    Find a good local auto trimmer and consult him about refoaming/rebuilding yours.

    I paid a bomb for Exmoor trim seats for our 02 Defender and put Subaru seats in our County to suit my wife's back.

    We bought the Subie seats for a specific purpose but the seat bases needed 40mm taken from the front and a great local auto trimmer did that for us.

    When I had an in depth discussion with him he advised me that it is possible for a good trimmer to rebuild seats to your specific needs.

    find some seats that you find comfy then get boilermaker / metal fabricator to make up new spacer for new seat i used the original runners at fabed a H peice to fit the bolt holes on new seat and original runners should take more than a a couple of hours

    You could try some sheepskin seat covers first? I find they make a big difference.
    Failing that as others have said an auto interior workshop could refoam and retrim your seats to make them more comfortable.

    The ES/HSE models have electric seats with lumbar support (auto inflatable airbag in seat back). These seats are softer than standard too.
