Question Ideas for mounting axe, shovel, high lift jack, maxitracs, etc.

My roof rack is arriving this week and I'm trying to work out where I can mount everything as opposed to my at the moment having it all in a pile in the boot.

I bought the Maxtrac mounts from ARB the other day and figured they could go on the side of the roof rack.

I would like to put an awning on the other side, so that's not leaving a whole lot of room for mounting much else.

Perhaps run the high lift jack accross the back of the rack?

What about the spare wheel carrier tool holders - e.g. Axe and Shovel Holder - 4x4 Accessories - Axe and Shovel Holder - 4wd Recovery Gear | 4wd Accessories | 4wd Equipment and Camping Gear Australia | Axe and Shovel Holder | Combo Shovel | Synthetic Winch Rope | Camping Lights| Autofridge Eutectic Refri ? Are they any good?

In the interests of keeping the weight low, I'm making a carrier that brackets off the side of the spare wheel carrier so the hi-lift, axe & shovel are mounted between the spare wheel & the number plate. Something to think about.

Details what roof rack system you are talking about may help.

With rhino bars one space saving tip for my long handle shovel; I use the rhino shovel holders attached to the underside of the bars on the out side of the bar legs with the shovel end curving around the back of the wagon

I currently have a Tradesman rack but am looking to replace it with the Baja rack ( Land Rover Discovery 2 Roof Top Tent Rack - 4x4 Equipment ).

I purchased some of the Maxtirac mounts to fit and am still thinking the axe and shovel carrier to suit the spare wheel is a goer. Just need to figure something out for the big lift jack then - Opposite Lock have mounts for these, so might go have a look and see if I can make them work on my rack...
