For mine, I didn't have to remove the inlet manifold to get to the fitting. A 14mm spanner (and a bit of luck perhaps) undid mine from the side, with the spanner nearly at right angles to the fitting.
What fitting do you now have at the engine end, as I believe the metal ends can't be reused? Or did they manage to crimp onto it?

Here's something I found in my records on the topic (have not used these myself though)

You need 5 O rings to do the job.

3 x 6mm by 1.5mm viton 75
1 x 106V7 .799" by 0.103" viton 75
1 x 117V7 .174" by >103" viton 75
Cheers,
Franz

The same ends were reused.

I'm not saying it's not possible for it to be damaged in other ways, but consider for a minute.

If the internals, either the diaphram or spring are the problem, this would not necessarily cause the FPR to leak, this is likely to cause other running issues that would be noticable. The only cause of the FPR to leak is if the seals and/or gasket are at fault, and the rebuilt kit solves these.
I haven't come across any other motors other than the TD5 that have such issues with the FPR.

Or the water pump
Or the manifold studs
Or oil pump sprocket bolt

But we persist
