    Question Engine Driven Air Compressor

    Hi I have searched the forums but cannot find anywhere where some one has fitted an engine; belt driven air compressor into a D2 TD5, I have been looking at one on eBay eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d as an example but I cannot find a fitting kit or get any info on how to fabricate support brackets for the engine. Any ideas or have any you guys done this? Which compressor is the best buy? I don't want to waste my cash by buying it first if it cannot bet fitted Thanks

    I have heard tell of it being done on non-ACE d2's by getting the ACE pump mounting brackets and fitting up a small compressor in place of the pump.

    I have setup the compressor from the td5 AC system as an endless air previously but not fitted one to a td5 (some compressor is on the tdi300) fitting one in place of the normal AC would be easy but Im guessing as its a D2 you want the AC still working.

    I spoke to the guy at endless air who sent me all his brochures and drawings etc for brackets and pumps. Goo luck fitting something in there. You'd have to pull the a/c and ace to have a chance and even then the smallest pump is the only one that will potentially fit either up high or down on the passenger side (length restrictions in both places) and the output isn't worth the effort.
