My 2003 D2a cooler looks like Urban Panzers cooler - a few o rings sorted it out. It's easier to work on if you take the whole cooler off to get the end caps out.
Well, replaced the FPR on weekend, not top hose as my limits stop at manifold removal. Started her up and top hose leaked! Bending it out of the way to in replacing the FPR must have found a weak spot in the connector. So family member mechanic roped in to remove manifold as I'll now be using new top hose that came with the FPR. Manifold off reveals leaking fuel cooler!!! it never stops! So now to get viton BS225 o ring to (hopefully) sort the cooler leak. Q--is the cooler on a 2004 D2a a later version, thought I saw something on this but can't find it. Planning to follow Urban Panzers excellent(as usual) guide but his doesn't look like a D2a.
Also anything else I might as well do since the manifold is off apart from gunk cleaning?
Thanks Discolaw

I've had this discussion with Peter from PCB Landrovers here in SA when the o-rings were leaking in my Sept 2002 build D2a. Later D2a's (2004) have a different type of cooler that does away with the o-rings and is one piece I think he said.
He retro fits the later type onto early D2's as he doesnt trust the o-ring replacement for his customers (fair enough). Cost to fit later cooler and its hoses (they're different) was about $500 in parts compared to about $690 for a new old-style cooler. Needless to say I replaced my own o-rings last July and its been fine ever since!
Cheers Dave
I went down a different path, got rid of it all together, well the factory one anyway, i put put an air to air on mine, actually an auto trans cooler type, mounted perfect behind the grill with some lengthened fuel lines, def no more o ring probs and working fine....
Actually my cooler looks like and is the same as Urban Panzer one so my D2a must have just missed out the new type. I just wanted to check the slight possibility that there was some internal change but it sounds like the later version looks completely different. Only LR would fit an improved version of something in the final days of a models production run.
The later cooler (04) is a flat plate design, completely different from the earlier barrel cooler. Interchangeable with hose alterations.
