2000 d2 TD5 losing key sync overnight
Well, that's what's happening.
The vehicle is accessible with the key, and the plips immediately resume their synchronization, but until they are in the lock (and after), no remote locking.
Both fobs have new batteries, Nanocom tells me all's OK, but it still happens.
Has anyone had a similar circumstance, and what was the cure?????
Help.........................

My 2000 td5 does the same. always has, I believe it is a security "time-out" function (10-12 hrs)

They don't all do that. My 2000 D2 can be left for days and still unlock with the remote. 2 weeks at an airport once.(although the battery wasn't happy after that
)
Sorry, can't help with a solution though.

Mine has always required a turn of the key in the door lock in the morning to wake things up.
Tried to change it thru nanocom but no luck.

Maybe the BCU got somehow to "transit" mode, are the interior ligthts playing games also(with the door open they stay on for seconds only?).
You can try this procedure from RAVE..
Transit mode
To prevent excessive battery drain during transit to overseas markets, the vehicle is placed in a transit mode.
To exit the transit mode, simultaneously hold down the heated rear window switch and the rear fog lamp switch, turn
the ignition switch from 0 to II and, after a minimum of 2 seconds, release the switches.
Transit mode can be entered using TestBook. When TestBook communicates with the BCU for diagnostics related to
BCU operation, it first checks that the vehicle is not in transit mode.
Happened to a mate, saw with nanocom that it was in transit mode and did the above procedure - much easier than saving settings etc..
