Would battery charging set of the alarm if car is locked?

As the title suggest I had the battery on charge on the disco with the bonnet resting closed, not closed completely and the car locked.

The neighbour let me know that the alarm was going off today.

So would it be the fact the battery was charging or that the bonnet was not closed properly?

If the bonnet isn't closed properly the alarm will go off when you lock the car. There's a pressure switch on the side of the engine bay that the bonnet holds closed.

The alarm did not go off when I locked the car, it was sometime during the day.

It must have reset itself as it was not going off when I got home.

My alarm does all sorts of funky things when I'm charging the battery. I usually disconnect the battery and charge it then reconnect it.
