Disco 2 Service
Hi all, Have had Disco 1 (98) diesel for 8 years have just updated to a 2000 TD5 with all the extras and I mean all, not sure if this was a good idea, but low k's good condition upholstery trim inside, some of external plastic trim needs some work, took for first service and I am wondering how much for basic service, in Adelaide, seemed a fair bit more expensive than the D1, and whats more so much electronics dont think I could do much myself, I mean this thing has 2 oil filters??? and how do you check oil level in the transmission no dipstick? I am interested to hear what other owner think. (still like the car but Jeese)

Don't let the electronics scare you off.
It just means you don't have a injector pump to worry about when servicing.
While they have 2 oil filters they arn't hard to change once you know how to aproch it.
One fuel filter at the rear and the system bleeds on the key so no hand pumping as before.
The rest of the service is the same, driveline oils, check the belts and hose ect..
These threads are linked in "the good oil" and worth a look for you.
