    Question D1 - D2 Cruise Control Switch

Are the Cruise control switches in the D1 & D2 the same? I can see by pictures that the fascia's are different but the D2 clips off does the D1 and if so are the switches themselves the same?...thanks Joe

I recently fitted a D1 switch into a D2a binnacle (removed a blank). The switches fit into the binnacle OK but are slightly different shape, a litle longer and are a lighter shade of grey.

Thanks; I want to add spotlights I have a D2 "spotlight switch" but it requires the same setup as the fog light as it is momentary. The cruise switch is off\on and will use my bezel and change the switch. I need to do this 3x therefore 3 cruise switches hence looking at d1 switches I need another "spotlight switch" and 2x front fog switches. This will fill my Bezel and give me D2 switches for all my lights. front roof bar; rear work lights front and rear fog and spotlights. I also require the plugs to fit into the cruise switches with cable on them so I can splice them. Thanks again

What about using a latching relay with the mo/mo switches?

Also, just cut the shroud (section of plastic the original harness normally clips into) and multimeter to work out what's what and then solder on some wire and heat shrink. Then use generic (small enough to still fit through the fascia holes) multi pin plugs to fit to your harness to the lights. We used to do this all the time, had switches on the shelf made up ready to go and the IPF light harnesses adapted to the other side of the plug. Also enabled to hook into the instrument lighting so that works too. By memory it's just a single input from the lighting circuit and it finds an earth through another part of your harness.
