Left hand indicator, windscreen wipers on.

Asthe thread suggests, turn left and 50% of the time the wipers come on and stay on. No amount of giggling the wiper controls can turn them off except pulling over and turning the ignition off.

    Any pointers please?

I think it's corrosion in the indicator stalk connections - I think it might be a new stalk to fix - if you have a search for that it might bring some more specifics up

Hmmmm, drove all day without trailer and didn't play up once. Will see if it reappears when I am on the move again...

    Interesting, which earth wire?

There is no clear answer, but when I added a new earth in the lighting circuit (for driving lights) the problem resolved itself and hasn't resurfaced in 5 years

I notice in the rave electrical systems they share the same earth header in the lh drivers footwell. I'll check that.

Haven't had a chance to dig further yet, but I discovered / realised tonight that it only happens when the headlights are on, the trailer is not the common link... I'd been leaving the lights on during the day given where I was driving, hence the time it took to work out the pattern.

Problem solved for now. Can't say exactly what I did that worked but I pulled the side panels off the footwell and undid and retightened the bolt that holds the earth headers down on the left and right side and then jiggled the bundle of wires that are above the pax footwell behind the heater fan. Then all was good.

    Seemed to solve the problem!

I should add that I had subsequently found that with the lights on, putting the front fog lights on, horn, or indicators triggered the wipers.
