I should add that the GU Patrol they have as a demo vehicle had their double instrument pillar panel installed and it looked very well finished. Just a shame that they only cater to the Japanese vehicle market.
Gavin, I had a look at these while I was there:
I thought they looked a bit clumsy on the pillar of the Disco, and the bottom corners of each pod stick out into the door opening. The gent I spoke to said they were really designed to go with the 75 series Cruisers. They have single pods that have are quite expensive for what they are and are only retained with double sided adhesive. I think I'll chase up something that screws down instead.

They welded an adapter/connector onto the rear facing angled section of the AT sump and the sensor screws into that. Looks a little exposed initially, but will probably be covered with a protector when I get my act together. I've placed my order this morning, so will post pictures of the whole lot and set up once it's here.
Although I very much like the Madman concept (especially the alarms) the OZ supplier seems to be about double that at $600 plus installation, and I didn't have much luck talking to South Africa for info/assistance on connections, or what I actually needed to order, etc. Plus I have a nanocom anyway that I keep permanently installed in my wee beastie, and I bought local (albeit a bit more expensive) for my EGT (Thermoguard) so didn't need the full madman range.
So far I'm very impressed with customer service from Autron in Melbourne and likely get their twin oil pressure/AT oil temp gauge - possibly a higher temp one than mentioned in this thread

I was too Gav, hence the reason I've gone that way. I called and asked where I could see one and they said "come over and have a look". I spoke to a gent named Frank and he struck me as one of the techs there.

Didn't catch his name, but he was certainly on the ball. Answered all my questions on the spot. His ears pricked up when I told him about ,my rebuild. He pointed to a lovely red Stag in the factory and smiled when he asked "what do you think is in that?".
Generally speaking I hate auto electrics although I've always been fascinated by electronics and radio. I have to confess I'm sorta looking forward to putting this on.
Gauge is in and everything is connected save for the water temp sender. I wish I'd thought of doing this before putting the engine back in because I could have drilled a spot on the intake manifold, but I'll have to either source an inline hose adapter or drill it all the same.
Very happy with the gauge. I hate doing anything with car electrics but the only annoying aspect of the job is dealing with the Disco dash binnacle and steering column plastics. Because there's no dimmer in the dash light circuit the gauge is on full brightness at night but I'll step that down somehow.
above 1500 rpm oil pressure is good, but it's hovering around 15 psi at idle, so I'll drop the oil for something heavier tomorrow. A good brisk run this evening saw the warmest oil temp sit at 74°C. It's interesting to see how much longer it takes to get there than it does for the in-dash gauge to show normal operating temp.
