I was filling the defender the other week in my own little world and a lady on the other side of the pump scared the bejesus out of me by saying 'isn't petrol cheap today'........its the one thing I never worry about or keep tabs on it, when the trip meter gets into the 900's I pull into the next fuel station and fill her up.

I answered the lady by saying is it? She went on telling me which day is best to buy and how she tops up if she sees an out of cycle drop.....goodo I thought

    Ditto.....

When my tanks getting low, I just pull in and fill it up

Apparently some city folk are getting cheaper fuel we sure arent...

But I just swipe the old Motorpass and drive off happy...

Fuel is, after all, the cheapest part of vehicle ownership...

depends on if you're nearer the cab or the exhaust.

Cheap! We were paying $2.50 a litre 5 years ago in Holland when we were living there. Needless to say, I become a real Dutchie and road my bike to work each day.

At the time, we had an Opel Omega, with a 2L 4 cyl engine. When I told locals that, they described that as a big family car, good for long holidays and towing vans.

Agreed X2. If you do 15,000km per year and are getting 10L/100km (ie a diesel), a 10c/L saving in fuel is only worth $150 per year or 41c/day. If 12L/100km, $180pa or 50c/day. Why people wander around for 1 or 2 cents savings is beyond me, unless they are doing huge km per year.
