    Would you buy another?

After some time away, I came back and proclaimed that i was looking a buying another LR, defender at that stage, but the procrastination gremlins prevented me from taking the plunge once again.
I left the phalanx after the bad experience with my beloved D1(V8), and went and spent some money on a Gu Patrol, but after setting it up, I found I'm just not in love with it as I was my LR, I know you all will say, we all return, but would you decide to come back after all there quibbles and character left you with a very bed taste in the mouth? My wife and I have decided on a plan to get into a D3/4 in a few years because we loved the D1 so much, so I figure why not get back into a D2, and feel the love once more before the transition, than sitting in a truck I just don't love. Thoughts ?

I went by a D2 on the way to work today, but I don't think I'd go out and buy one.

IMHO If you're thinking of changing to a D3/4 and now being an owner of a D4 myself, I'd be putting up with the Nissan until you find the D3/4 of your plans.

(That said Gary from CLR has an early D2 TD5 with an engine issue he's about to offer for sale at about $4K, no space to part it out ATM.)

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

i currently own a d2 V8, and as much as i love driving it, im not currently in love with it,

but its a tough call, i cant imagine owning another brand of 4x4 at the moment, even though a GU is very tempting, i just dont know what i would spend all my free weekends and hard earned on other than my disco

I love mine also. Its a vehicle that I've never gotten sick of and have always loved driving. Sometimes its cheap and sometimes like all Land Rovers it costs a lot to service but you get that. I've looked at other vehicles to change to, and every single time I keep coming back and think that I'd prefer to keep the D2.

I'll have it for a long time I think. One thing I'd like to change in a make over... gimme the 3.0TDV6.

If you do, I would highly recommend you look at getting the ACE suspension. Its the most brilliant bit of work.
    Cheers

    Hi Cucianado,
No use asking us what we like, we obviously like what we drive :-)
I think YOU should go out & drive the vehicles you intend on purchasing.
No use saying I really want a D? & then drive it & go yuck, what a waste of time & effort.

Do a descent drive & make your own mind up.
If you have any questions afterwards, you know where we live.

    Cheers

Thanks mate, done that, been there. The question really was about whether you would go back after a bad experience with the D1.

    cheers

3.0 SDV6 the 3.0TDV6 is merely an upgrade of the 2.7TDV6 without the sequential turbo.
