    only 3000 rpm d2a td5

    Hi All

I recently replaced the fuel pump as it made a screaming noise and then the engine ran rough and I could only get 3000rpm out of it before it died.
Fuel pump fixed the problem and the pump has never been so quiet.

    Hpppy!!!

    Woe,
Yesterday I started up after a short stop and the engine was slugish and only 3000rpm. Shut down and restart! all ok.

    Today exactly the same result.
Start and run sluggish, 3000rpm and a restart and all ok.

    Help please.

    Cheers

Check for oil around the engine ecu connectors as oil can migrate from the engine via the injector harness back to the ecu then the oil interferes with sensor signals in the same connector. There are plenty of threads on AULRO for what to do if you do find oil.

    Hello.
Sounds like you are getting into limp mode really need to plug into a nanocom and see what faults you have, could be a over boost stuck waste gate until you have a look it is a bit hard.

    Problempe Solvered I ho

Checked wiring loom and connectors, all ok.
The fault has been intermittent and I had trouble hunting it down. The sound of the pump has been changing ever since I Boughtmy Disco 3 years ago and thought it normal.

This problem has brought it all to a head,
Works out that the Pump Relay has had an intermittent problem. Sometimes it doesn't work.
I had a spare relay and pluged it in and have not had issues since. Tried it out of desparation, seems to have worked.

Thanks for all the input. Will keep your advice for the future.

I am now going to buy a Nanocom. Seems they are priceless.

    Cheers
