yeh thats the sucker.
Hi replacing my fpr at the moment and what a job it is... Question need some help. How do you undo the front fitting on the pipe that runs from the fpr to the front of the block. My hose is brittle and cracked a bit so its gotta be replaced. I have a discotd5 not defender.
Hi - I got mine undone by removing the pipe where your egr used to be (or egr if you still have one) then remove the vertical strut thing that goes down to the alternator , then you should have room to use a 14mm open end spanner (on an angle ) on the fitting .
Good luck,
Simon
If you take off the inlet manifold it is all easy.
If you still have EGR, then it gives you a chance to transfer the gunk from inside the manifold to your clothes and hair.

Thanks greg .. Scary to think I'll have to do this every few years.
Such a fiddly job. Getting the regular out wasn't too bad but that hose at the front of engine block was s killer not looking forward to putting it back in.
Has anyone covered their new hose with some kind of sleeve to protect it from the heat of the engine which makes it Britol
I did mine about six months ago. Car is over 10 years old and done 190,000 kays.
I have a full service history of the vehicle and this is its first one.
As for the hose at the front, I was lucky that this hose was ok so I left it.
I have read another thread where you will have to pull a few bits off the bend the end of a ring spanner 90 degrees to its handle then cut a slot to fit over the hose.
