    Noisy Power Steering pump

    Hi all,

I am thinking the accessories that hang off the D2 are inferior than the D1 - my D1 power steer pump has 285,000k on it and its just starting to fail - noise. My D2 is noisy (more so and sudden) at 200,000k - and its steering box is not leaking fluid like my D1.

Will a flush and new fluid have any effect or is it stuffed and needs a new one - anyone know of where to get a new OEM well priced?

I got my alternator from Will Tillery in the US, so absent any good prices here I will try him if I need a new one.

    Cheers

When I rang around a few months back they were 50$ cheaper from the local main LR dealer that anywhere else online in Australia that I could find. (I didnt check overseas at the time as I needed it that week) (TD5)

    Talking noisy PSP

replace the bl--dy thing as soon as possible !!!!! Mines been off the road now for a couple of weeks---thought the pump would last a little longer even asked local LR mechanic said that the pump would fail but don't worry!!Well I've now HAD to replace the pump, harmonic balance and fan belt also while I've had the thing to pieces the coolant pump and the o rings in the fuel cooler. the belt shreded and jamed up the harmonic balance pulley which then let go the rubber insert oil went everywhere and I was stuck on the side of the road so now alot poorer and nearly back on the road, if I think something doesn't sound right I will replace it ........
