    Why No Seat Heaters?

I recently purchased an 03 Disco HSE. I was disappointed that it did not have seat warmers. Call me soft, but living in a place where winters can get down to -4 nothing is nicer than warm leather. I have them in my D1.

As it is a HSE and no seat warmers, I assumed that they no longer do them.
Looking through the owners manual it lists them. I thought maybe this is for overseas models and they use the same book.

Any way I did not get the radio pin and the EKA codes from the owner. I contacted the owner and he said he would post them. They arrived today along with the sales brochure that the stealerships have. In this brochure it lists heated seats as standard on HSE.

Looking at the spec sheet, there is not much difference between SE and HSE, but heated seats was one of them. This is why I wanted a HSE. TD5 HSE's are not easy to find as most are V8.

So why do I not have them?

After finding out this I am now a bit more than disappointed
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Have they been removed? Or were they just never put there?

You can get aftermarket ones, and I'm sure you could chase down original switches etc if they are missing.

Or you could sell your first born and get some Scheel-mann headed seats like I did for my County

Never had them. No switches or holes where they should be.

Nice find Dave, our D2a has the elements in the seats but they are not connected. Have a look, you may be able to fit a relay and switches.

Greg. I have heard this, and I had a very brief look under them today, but not sure how to tell. Where is the element exactly and where are the wires/terminals to connect them?

if you search for it. I think you will find warmth

if you look under the seat so you can find some cables they are branched with a brown connector under the seat would think that heat is in the chair, it's just that there is no plug to start them, you'll find probably a few contacts that are loose at the handbrake where the switch sit I do not think there is any model delivered to Sweden without them it is even standard electricity heated front window on both discovery and the defender. hello from a cold Sweden with temperature down to -30 during the worst winter nights when you wish that you were out for a drive in the outback Australians at some point I will do it instead of shoveling snow for 4-5 months

Australia didn't get the cold climate options for some models - maybe the D2 is the same. The P38A RR has the heaters in the seats but the HEVAC panel has blanking plates over the switch positions. No heated screen, either, even though the harness is there under the panel behind the bonnet.

I think the same applied to at least the early L322.

Apparently the Poms didn't know it can get chilly here.

Ron. What you say makes sense, but if you are not going to include them don't have it in your sales brochure. If I was going to buy a new car I would take home the sales brochure and study it, to see what comes standard on what models. Now if I ordered a car because the sales brochure said it came fitted with X,Y and Z, and the car was delivered to me missing Z, I would return it and demand that it be fitted. I almost see the brochure as false advertising.
