Thread: Should I swap bullbars?

I am facing a similar dilema. I have two D2A's that I am swaping parts over on before getting rid of one. My old one has TJM bar with cradle and winch while the new one has ARB colour coded bar. I was originally planning on just putting the winch into the ARB and all was good. Trouble is the more I look at the two set ups the more I think the TJM appears far stronger. Would also be interested to hear other peoples points of view on this on.

I was very happy with my TJM bar on the D1. Some say they are not as strong as the ARB but had no problem winching or snatching off it. I also like the look of the TJM better.

I don't know if they are the same as the D1 but I mounted my winch directly to the bar. TJM told me you can fit up to a 9500lb winch to the bar but any bigger to fit a cradle.

I can assure you its not...

TJM has advantage of slightly reduced overhang vs ARB but otherwise in all regards is not as strong.

ARB bars have a stronger design, if you hit a roo with a TJM one, its a good bet you'll be after a replacement bar.
ARB bars can knock them down with minimal if any damage.
Personally, if its a straight swap, I'd go the ARB one.
TJM looks better (IMHO), and has a better approach angle, but the ARB one is superior strength wise.
