    NEW MEMBER : SUSPENSION ENQUIRY

Hi, I am new to the forum.
Currentlty upgrading from well set up 300 TDI Manual to D2a TD5 Auto, wife does not have Manual licence. I want to keep TD5 standard to tow small offroad caravan 1500 kg. Front shocker leaking, time to change all shockers. Thinking of Koni, what do you suggest?

Bilsteins, get them from the USA or the UK. I got mine from Paddocks in the UK for $452 delivered to my front door within 5 days from ordering online. The exchange rate is about the same as when I ordered mine.

Wow, thats about half price compared to here in Auzzie. How did they compare to standard shockers?

I changed my ride with uprated springs to correct for ARB/winch bar and age sagging. So the springs are of a slightly higher rating than stock (dobinson C51-32).

    http://www.dobinsonsprings.com/docs/...df/LAND-58.pdf

which left a 30mm lift,(10mm over the advertised 20mm lift even with bar and winch fitted!).

this stiffened the ride but is still soft over the speedhumps.

Following from the feedback on the forum I put in bilsteins 994/995's front and rear(sls) and they are very good. Positive feel on road with less rebound bounce than stock when off road.

    Would buy again.

I went tough dog HD's all round, 41mm non adjustables, via ray@4wd1.com, mail order..two days at the door..plus HD coils.
Made a massive difference in ride and predictability..

I have found the Bilsteins to be awesome; a search on here will reveal this opinion is shared by many, with not a bad word against them. Bilsteins are also rebuildable.
