So what would you need for a roadside repair? Can the connecter be refitted and tightened enough for a temporary repair or would you need a length of hose with clamps to bridge the faulty connector? I believe that the oil pressure is highest when the torque converter locks so should you keep below 70-80 km/hr? How much ATF is required for a refill?

Depends on what happens with the hose. Mine seemed to just rattle off so I was able to retighten by hand but the top hose is a real pita to get and you would need a curved spanner or something to really get some torque on it but if I had some ATF (8 liters or so) 70km up the mountain I coulda been back on the road within 1/2 an hour. Just be sure you've got a way to get the ATF into the tranny; the 1liter bottles have a spout such i used to get it in. There are easier ways with other tools but with what I could get at a servo it did more than ok. If only I had of known to let the ATF settle in the tranny for a while then I probably could've driven home. No matter, racv total care got it towed home no worries.

Not to sure what woulda happened if it blew out, perhaps if I had some small hose clamps and tubing it could've been a temp fix; but if the thread were to blow I don't know what you'd do.
