    Rocker Cover Gasket

    Hi all,

For the past 2 years I've had a slow "seepage" from the rear of the rocker cover. It's slowly turning into heavy "seepage". Most people including Discovery Automotive in Wangara pretty much refuse to fit a new gasket saying I should just leave it. I don't like wasting money, but there's so much mess on the engine, and not to mention my garage floor.

Has anyone else gone through the dilemma of leaving it or fitting a new one?

I fitted a new rocker cover gasket when I replaced my injector seals. Pretty easy job to do yourself. Can't see why they don't want to do it.

    Rocker cover gasket.

Fit a new one. Get rid of the piece of noise reduction plastic at the rear of the engine. This plastic left in place makes it more difficult to fit cover and is not a lot of use anyway.Clean surfaces fit gasket to the cover, the rubber inserts hold it in place, and carefully replace cover. Check the half circle part of the gasket at the rear is in place and tighten up slowly, keep checking the half circle.Change your garage.

i did a tutorial on ours a while back... I will see if I can find it
