Penrite Oil Australia - NetLube
IM about to purchase my second LR 2004 D2 V8, and after my experience with the D1, I'm a little cautious but excited at the same time ..
Ive always used Penrite oils in my cars and did so in the D1, I've heard that oils are not oils and coolants are not coolents when coming to the LR.
So in the event this is the case, please set me straight before i start on my second LR adventure![]()

Penrite Oil Australia - NetLube
On advice from the specialist, after fitting the Ashcroft ATB to the rear. I'm now running (despite the mech LSD not requiring it) Penrite Limslip 85/140 front and rear. Copes better with temperatures and higher pressures, plus they stock only one oil, for all apps so no one can stuff up and fill anything with the wrong oil. The auto (also after getting rebuilt on advice) gets SIN ATF which is now the full synthetic ATF FS. Engine gets HPR 10 (new crate engine 20,000k's old when I got it from known wreck). Coolant, I've been using Nulon OAT, but that was when I couldn't find a Penrite OAT. They now have a bigger range. For the D2 they recommend their Green 4 year mix but looking at their range the recommended for the D3/4 (magenta) is an OAT mix and so should be what's required for the D2. For the power steer & ACE systems however I don not deviate from the OEM Land Rover Cold Climate Oil they Recommend, runs about $15-18/L depending on your source. Penrite recommend their semi-syn p/steer fluid for both, but I'd do a full flush (and filter change on ACE) on both systems to flush out the odd oil. I use Hypoid 85/140 in the transfer.
Well looks like i was doing the right thing in the first place.., the engine oil is the one I'm going to give a good think about, anyone else using something not mentioned
I changed to OAT from the green stuff as per the specs,Just be aware that the OAT will find a way to leak out if possible, something about it dissolving tho deposits from the green.
