It would be possible to drill the glass or have a different type of glass made to suit the space. My suggestion would be a commercial/artistic glass manufacturer that also deals in the fittings as well. I had a piece slumped for a shop counter, 2.9m x 800mm in a big arc, with slumped images sand cast in the reverse side. They also drilled for the fittings and supplied them. The fittings and drilling were pretty cheap but the glass was $18,000.

The original glass is tempered so you can't do much with it in the way of drilling or cutting.
You could use the originals as templates though & have new pieces made (if they're dead flat it will be cheap).

As for a seal, check out a 3 door D1 & see if the hinged window seal will be suitable.

CJT, the recent thread about the same for Defenders had me thinking about my D2 also. I'm local, so if you get a quote, ask for X2.
My only question is that in a lot of modern vehicles the bonded glass can be structural. This may be a legal hassle.

Not a problem, I will ask for a quote for two sets when I find someone.

I was thinking maybe an RV / Caravan manufacturer would be a good starting point.

I will also ask the structural question to my engineer when he is out in the next few weeks.

Thanks, my first choice is to use the original glass as I believe the D2 aerial is built into it.

If that is a no go, then I will look at a manufacturer and source an alternative aerial arrangement.

I would contact Mulgo and see what his friendly local window manufacturers can do for you...

Why not aluminium doors like the Dolium ones for the defender with a D1 3 door pop-out window seal? If vision was a problem you could install a standard caravan plastic window into the aluminium doors. Would be waaay cheaper than custom glass.

On a recent vic AULRO trip were were discussing this very topic. Very interested in how you go with this, as it would be very handy mod. Especially when my cargo drawers restrict access to my side bins.
