    Overheating Disco TD5

    Hello

Driving along today my TD5 looses power and the temp hits the red. looking under the Lid a large amount of the coolant has been pushed out of the radiator.
My feeling is im about to spend lots of money I don't have. Lol
Can anyone recommend a mechanic somewhere around the Rockingham or Mandurah area? I would just like to find a mechanic I can trust.

I have noticed a running water sound coming from behind the dash too

Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Do you have an obvious leak or a pin-***** of a leak?

I recently found a coolant hose from the fuel cooler had been chafing against the steering components and only leaked under pressure. Took me forever to find however.

I'm from Waikiki but down south for the moment. If you haven't got it sorted I'd be happy to try and help when I'm back.

Unfortunately that sound behind the dash seems head gasket or even worst crack in the head symptom especially corroborated with the overpressure which blew the radiator

    Hi,

From my understanding, the noise you are hearing is because of air in the cooling system. A result of you radiator leak.

If it was there before, the loss, then air was trapped in the heater matrix area and the system requires bleeding.

I hope the damage isn't too bad.

    Cheers, Jerry

Coolant being pushed out is the escaping compression gases forcing its way out thru the gasket and into the coolant tank, head gasket time for you just hope the head hasnt gone as well .

    Hi Captain,

It's really important to accept that this is the most likely scenario and not get drawn into replacing hoses, thermostats or wasting coolant as this just flushes more money down the drain.

    Good luck
