Question Discovery 2a factory headlight wiring

Whats the story with the factory head light wiring in the D2a? I see that some people talk about Traxide Headlight Wiring Upgrade Kit ( Headlight Kits ) - looking at the site, it seems to just put a relay in so that the headlights are powered directly from the battery. How is this different? Is the factory wiring not set up already through a relay (I ask as my Falcon has a factory relay setup to power the low and high beams, so I assumed it was fairly standard setup)?

there are no relays in d1 or d2, headlamp switch is the cause of volt drop.

    bad design

The D2 uses Mosfets (electronic switches) in the BCU for the headlights and electronic switches (incl transistors, diodes etc) have about 0.6V voltage drop across their junction. Voltage drop also occurs due to the length and diameter of the wires.

As said, measure the actual volts at the lights.

The size of the wiring (and quality?), switch losses (i once had a switch in a RRC catch fire due to excessive current.
