PEU102770 is the correct part. And I'll take back what I said about not too expensive - they are selling for £280 ex vat in the UK.
Thanks - I saw that price too and nearly fell off my chair - it seems a lot for a bracket.
Will ring around and see if I can locate a good 2nd hand unit.
Not sure why the problem occurred - looks like either corrosion over a long period (unlikely) or a previous owner has cracked the part off when replacing the o-ring (looks like this as there is a rough fractured edge.
Anyway I'm glad I found the problem....a lot cheaper than a new engine.
When I replace the coolant I'll probably will use the Nulon red long life OAT as I can buy it locally unless there is a good reason not to?

I am aware that this is an old thread, but given that we encourage using the search feature and that this thread is one of the top results when doing so I thought it worth to update for future reference for anyone else who finds this thread when using the search feature looking for the correct torque setting, I would suggest reading https://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery...ml#post2655235 - 27NM does not seem to be the correct torque setting.
The engine mount brackets are speced at 48nm and they carry the weight of the engine.
the pas and coolant bracket is only sealing the O-ring between the block and supporting 20kg of pumps. So ply because Justin say M10 can be tightened to 50mn doesnt mean they need to be tightened to that setting...
Yes, the engine mounts carry the weight of the engine, but the 48nm nut doesn't. The mount is underneath the tabs on blocks and as such if the top nut is removed the engine will still stay in place. Very different to this where the bracket is held in place by the bolts and then has further items bolted to it further away creating more levered weight.
Correct, but I would suggest it's a much more suitable torque range for the bolts and given his experience one I'd go with...
But the argument is irrelevant as RAVE does not specify the torque so we will likely never know the correct answer.
Your original assertion in this thread of 27nm (ref post 4) I believe is incorrect. You even had doubts yourself about its accuracy when you posted again shortly afterwards (post 5). I suggest that you confused the 'PAS Pump Bracket' (whose torque is 27NM) with the 'Coolant and PAS Pump Bracket'. They are two seperate items. The PAS Pump bracket is a little plate type bracket on the PAS pump, see the picture below for illustration. It has four bolts that go through it and one bolt which secures it to the pump assembly. The purpose of this bracket is to adapt the PAS Pump to the TD5 motor - the V8 models use the same pump assembly but with no bracket or a different bracket to suit the V8 motor (the picture I have of the setup on the V8 is unclear for determining this). This PAS Pump is the one which is 27NM which given the smaller bolt size and similarity in bolt size and torque to the PAS Pump bolts at 25NM seems more reasonable and likely.
