Just one more thing to make Disco no go
Had been having an intermittant starting issue over a few months. Turn the key--nothing. On one time when it happened I tried the old whack the starter motor therapy, it started. I assumed problem was starter so I put in the new plunger/contacts kit. Went to start it--nothing, causing near emotional breakdown. Called in family member mechanic who progressively tested lots of ,fuses, relays & plugs for power feed. Last thing checked showed no transmission neutral/park input signal getting to BCU. If it isn't told its in park or neutral it won't let it start. Problem was traced to a loose wire connected into the multiplug for the xyz transmission switch. Wire reconnected and problem solved--simple! One more thing worthwhile filing in your memory for next time it doesn't start.

I had a similar thing happen a couple of times, turned out to be a loose battery terminal. The funny cone shaped terminal just had to be bashed on some more but if it happens again I might have to shim it. Just goes to show how even with all the electronics the D2's have they seem to be pretty good at absorbing surges as would've have happened with the bad connection (like jump starting) or I was very lucky.
