    D2a Side window glass

Thanks to a nocturnal visit from some unidentified lowlifes, I had to get a new drivers door window glass, and my standard APIA excess is $350 - ouch.

Just wondering if anyone understands the codes written into window glass, before I start enquiring if I have the correct glass or been dudded - and before I go to stage 2 and have the window re-tinted?

The original glass is coded as Land Rover Pilkington Optikool Toughened DOT 17 M24 AS2 E11 43R00003 E 000203

The O'Briens (never had a problem with them before) replacement is XYG E000039 Tempered Safety Glass DOT 563 AS 2M-540 43R-001529 KD 20692.

    Cheers

Too late now I know but wouldn't a good used window have been cheaper?, I know that mine are factory tinted.
In my experience with O'Briens they use a generic glass, that does not compare favourably to original, I had a rear screen fitted three times before they conceded and fitted a genuine screen.
Can't help with the codes, but it will not be of the same standard as genuine.

Ive had a rear side glass broken in Victoria 2 years ago ( lowlife outside an eastern suburbs pub). Obriens were useless and so rang around small guys. One of them found a second hand one, exactly right, put a new rubber on and problem solved. Use the yellow pages ( thats the thing that keeps the BBQ level these days) and make some calls. It will be worth it.

    Good Luck
