    BALL JOINTS?

    hi
    have bought ball joints going to replace tomorrow, have read the rave manual. instead of using ball joint removal tool can i take the hub off and press it out with a shop press ideas and thoughts greatly appreciated.

    Ball joints are mounted in the axle, unless you are going to remove that complete, you will need a decent tool to press them out

    do u know how much work is involved in taking axle out to press joints in shop press?

    Quite a bit, but it is just nuts and bolts, then you have to move it.

    Do you mean TIE ROD ENDS ???
    If so use 2 hammers,
    Hold 1 hammer against the tie rod and give the tie rod a sharp blow with the other hammer. Don't actually hit the tie rod,but what ever the taper is going into.
    It'll just pop out.

    Second that the two hammers work just take your time, check the ball joint after each hit it isn't always obvious that it has come free.
