TD5 Auto 2001
I am fitting a CDL Front Output Housing to replace the non CDL original on the Transfer Case. The manual calls up STC3254 sealant with no gasket on the housing to T/Case. I have found some threads where
Hylomar/Hylosil 101 is suggested as an alternative. There is a ridge central on the housing mating surface that would give a gap for the sealant to sit either side and give a fixed dimension for the output shaft end float.
Is the Hylomar 101 suitable?
Would the thinnest paper gasket with a smear of sealant either side be any better than just sealant?
