OK Dave, you convinced me - I'll give it a couple of weeks without the acoustic cover and see if I go deaf!

    Cheers

Theres nothing like the sound of a diesel in the morning, and charlie still can't surf, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

It is a diesel!! Clatter Clatter! When the clatter stops we know something is wrong. I like the neater look the cover gives the engine bay, so I removed the acoustic foam lining under the poly cover. As an aside I feel it directs some airflow over the engine like a cowling now that the foam is gone.

I was under the opinion that a foam lined cover on an engine in Australia was akin to wearing a beanie in the summer.

Do you know hat happens when you respond to posts following night shift?
You think someone wrote Oil Filter Cap. So deprived brain struggles to fathom a donut on the Centrifigal filter........

Oh well.... it helped you figure out how to post pics.

    cheers

almost as good as my initial read..

I read it as oil filter and was going to respond with "lucky you, some appie has left his filter grip ring on your filter for you"
