    Rocksliders for td5 99

    Hi
I've got some plastic side steps on my car at the moment, and they are starting to bend up and look fairly average. Can someone recommend a decent supplier/brand preferably in melbs,of steel rock sliders?

    Cheers

I fitted a set from les richmond automotive in Melb.about 2 years back. Reasonable price compared to all the others I checked out at that time. I wouldn't call them heavy duty tho'. They would save your sills but probably sustain damage themselves.
So far I have avoided useing them in anger

ARB Corporation make a steel tube and Alloy checker plate set that sit nice and high, doesn't effect ramp over angle. I have used a high lift jack on them at the mount points so quite strong. I paid $700 last year.

    Hi Mate,

why dont you have a crack at making them yourself - great excuse to buy a welder!!

I put together a set this year and im far from a great welder. and by the time i was finished I made them for a lot less - even including the price of the welder. Very satisfying to attach something to your pride and joy that you made yourself.

you are more than welcome to pop over and have a look - im not far from you - Yarraville.

If you did a search you would have turned up with a guy on here that makes an excellent set of rock sliders for a D2, PM Hendrik and your worries are over, he even makes rear bars for the D2.

Always support AULRO vendors and or locally made product when you can

unless he has changed the design, hendriks are steps, not sliders.
