    Lovells 2inch lift reviews

    Hi,

its time to lift the Disco and I have been looking at the Lovells springs and shockers, mainly i do beach driving and touring towing the camper trailer dirt roads etc no extrem stuff, bull bar on the front.

anyone here got opinion on this product or recommend another for simlar money.

    Cheers

for what you are doing I would only go for 30mm lift( longevity of front drive shaft) with Polyairs/Coilrites on the back. Pump them up for the trailer, let them down for for comfort around town, best of both worlds

Forgot to add the important bit , Any of the better suspension brands are good , Kings , Lovells, etc

i hae the hd springs front and back, been there for 4 years.
i had the shocks aswell but they were stuffed beginning of this year so replaced them with terrafirma shocks.
the springs are still holding things up nicely, starting to sag a little with full load and camper but otherwise good.

Well I have King Springs in 50mm, and they're great
Ride may be not quite as soft as before, but it sure handles better and with HD springs you can load it to the gunwales and it hardly budges
I'd agree that you wouldn't want more than 30mm, with airbags in the back
From what I know I have the Kings spring equivalent of the Lovells, so go for it

    I went with dobinsons

i reckon they understate the lift you can expect.

the -52 gave me over 55m lift even with the ARB bar and winch

had to down size to the -42 which gave me a 40mm lift (perfect for me).

    cheers

The problem with the off the shelf kits is that they are designed using fairly wide ranging criteria. I used to have OME heavy duty springs in the rear (too harsh when unladen) and longer springs in the front (to harsh as well).

Because of this, I had springs custom made with a little help from the manufacturer. I told him what poundage I wanted (based on much research and discussion) and what compressed length I wanted to achieve and they made them up for me.

I put airbags in the back for full load support and they are deflated for no load situations. I have a comfortable ride for around town and good articulation for off road. The only downside to a softer, more compliant ride is that body roll is increased a little but this does not bother me as I don't drive the Disco like a sports car - it is, after all, a 4wd.

    Cheers,

    Franz
