Hmm, I notice all of these installs have left the factory DPC in line.

The Provent has a built in DPC, for this reason I replaced the factory DPC with a copper elbow (fabbed up from plumbing spares ). Do you guys know something I don't?

    Pic attached.

Hmmm, tell me more about that Turbosmart Actuator U have there my friend!

In regards to the Decompression Valve, I think, there is a thread on here regarding the use of that particular piece, sierraferry should be able to shed some light on that, I have also through about ditching it, and just using a 90* pipe fitting.

    Anyway, heres mine;

The actuator is one designed for a Ford Focus ST, it has the exact same rod length - I simply swapped the buckle on from my existing actuator. Got it from AET turbo's near my home in England, an Ozzie Turbosmart guy was there when I bought it and was mega helpful about sizing, spring etc.

The bit that's NOT the same as a stock actuator is the 26 psi spring set inside.

I'm running an Alive Hybrid turbo, it came with a 25 psi sealed actuator which failed hence the swap-out. I wanted something serviceable.

I'm also running a 3.5 bar MAP and have had the MAP table re scaled.

Mine's a 10P engine with manual gearbox so it's not as reliant on the MAF. The MAF goes off scale but fuelling doesn't cut as would happen with a 15p or Auto.

Not sure about power but it's probably around 200bhp & 400+nm of torque. It's pretty fun

    Hey Bronson,

Thanks for the photos you posted of your Provent installation. Just wondering what size provent? Is it a 200? I also have the second battery so will try and put it where you have. If you have a moment could you let me know what else you used to put it in? Thanks again mate this is very helpful.

Here's mine, with much help from Bronson.

    - Decided on the 200 even though Mann Hummel engineer told me Provent 100 should be fine. He said the 100 has been tested to 250L of air (although on the ad it says up to 100L). He says the most blow-by he has seen was 100L, on a 200 series V8 landcruiser with 200k. But anyway, I like to go a bit higher than lower, and seeing as the 200 fits, and is actually slightly cheaper...

    - Bronson gave me a call and gave me measurements for a steel T bolted to the shock mount, (using the existing bolt on the mount). I had a mate fab this up for me. Great design Bronson. In the end however, the hoses seemed to push the Provent in between the PS fluid and the MAF sensor. I didnt end up bolting it to anything! Maybe someone will tell me how bad this is... But it seems nice and snug.

    - I used MPH hose from Pirtek. 19mm (I bought 2m) and 25mm (I bought 150mm) plus a couple of 25-19 poly reducers from Bunnings.

    - For the hose that goes closest to the turbo, I reused the sheath from the original breather hose and fit it as best as I could. You could buy some heat wrap on ebay if you want.

    - Drain: The Mann Hummel engineer suggested I dont bother plumbing into the sump. He was concerned about condensation in the oil. He reckons at the very least, test it for a while before plumbing in. I just took his advice and ran it to a tap as has been done here. I'll just empty it every oil change (5000 for me). The Provent is not designed to hold oil, so just keep some hose on the bottom. This is a 1m hose with tap that I bought from Western Filters with the Provent.

Overall I am pretty happy with it. Apparently the hose takes a while to show any oil as the provent filter gets saturated first. But judging by the oil in my original breather hose, it should only take a few thousand kms

Hope this helps anyone still improving their D2s like me!

It is just a ridiculous job. I find it is harder to get the new oil filter in. Especially once you get some oil on your hands and its hard to get a grip. A couple of times I have had 45 mins of sunlight left and think Ill do an oil change. Sometimes takes me 20 mins for that filter! When I finally get it, I always think "Ah... so thats how its done, I'll remember that next time!" I never do.

    Here's mine.

Allimunim bar between the shock mount and the fuel cut-off switch. The bracket also relocates the switch to the passenger side. The hose drops down with a tap accessible from the wheel well.
