    D2 diff breather insert size.

    Afternoon all.
Picked up an extended diff breather kit from OL, only the screw in pieces for the axle housing is too big.
Any ideas as to what size (in simple terms) insert I need?
    Cheers.
and YES Pedro I HAVE visited the Good Oil

My D2a just has a flimsy looking red plastic insert which you push down to remove the tube. This doesn't look like it is a screw in thing like the brass one on my previous D1. Often thought I should look into replacing it but didn,t think anything was available off the shelf. Are you sure its for a D2?

I was told it was generic, supposed to fit all.
I've got the red plastic inserts too, I just need some sort of insert as they're pretty flimsy.

Sounds like you may have got the wrong info. I thought of tapping the hole to give it some thread to match a D1 insert but access to do this is virtually impossible since its on top of the axle. Removing the front passenger wheel improves things a bit but it just looked too hard. Altho' the present set up looks weak I can't say mine has ever failed.

The part for the push fitting in the axle is FTC5085.

    http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product...E-ADAPTER.html

The LR hose is apparently 6mm OD, 4mm ID.

You should be able to find everything you need to make a custom breather setup here:

Buy Pneumatic Adaptors, Fittings & Couplings parts & accessories online | RS Components

RS Australia charge around $10 overnight courier on orders.

The other accessible source is element14

    http://au.element14.com/pneumatics

they have the advantage of selling single fittings rather than packs of 5 or 10.

This might help navigate what is available:

heaps of potential stuff for the job on OffTracks sites. Disco muffet if you navigate your way to something that works post it up. I reckon a lot of people would like to replace the flimsy plastic fitting.
