A nice small unit. Removed the whole sunvisor head unit thing and used 4 bolts and lock nuts to mount bracket. Ran wiring between the headliner and windshield, down a pillar, through firewall, and direct to battery.

My UHF is currently a crappy Oricom (there 40chs are total rubbish). It has all the controls on the hand piece. So as others have done. I just double sided tapped mine to the inside of the drop down panel under the steering wheel. And the mic just hangs over my phone holder at the moment.

But if you done have a radio like this. If it is a nice slim line radio you can mount it in the map pockets or if thicker infront of the interior lights. But if like me you hate dangly mic leads. Most can be extended quite easily. Pretty sure they just use the same leads to the mics as telephone (RJ45 or something like that). Or use a genuine extension lead.

I raised my center cubby box by gluing/screwing in a couple of small pieces of wood to the bottom. That created a space under the box and I mounted the N440 to the underside of the box. It's protected and up off the floor. Longer bolts were needed to fix the box to the floor.

Not sure if that's possible on a disco.
