Transmission Issues
My 1999 Tdi auto has an issue! Up until last year, no problems with the transmission until we
Towed an off road camper along a very bumpy road. After we had set up camp & climbed back in to go exploring, the vehicle would not engage in either drive or reverse until we had slightly revved the engine for a couple of minutes. It then behaved for several days until it did it again. We checked the low range gears & they were not engaged. Our local mechanic has checked it twice since & serviced it without finding any faults. It continues to do this frequently & doesn't seem to be related to weather or usage. The only thing may be that it is always parked on a slight inclining driveway when not in use. Any ideas?

When you say serviced was the Auto filter changed? Slow pickup is often caused by the filter getting clogged.
