D2a auto not changing into top gear.
Hi All
The auto that has been removed to replace all leaking seals and replaced now has decided not to change into top gear so revs incredibly high when one wants to do 110 on the highway.
Any thoughts??? cures???

Does it shift gears at all? Or does it feel slow like its in 3rd gear all the time?
Is it full of fluid?

it shifts through the gears as normal but coming back from the mechanic it decided to stop going into top yet was fine going there
Should be 100% full of fluid and just had its service after doing all of the seals

Swap the MAF sensor with a known one. Mine did this after replacing the engine and it was the MAF. Would hit 3rd, then grab a fist full of revs and drop back to first. Shuffle up and repeat.

question will be if it's not hitting 4th or just not locking up. Sounds MAF related to me

1st sign of not having enough ATF is losing 4th gear. Thats not to say it cant be anything else.

The problem occuring after auto work does place suspicion on auto fluid level, especially if it was topped up without the engine running, going through gears etc.
