I've just finished fitting a new set of ARB side steps to Charlie.
He has SLS with the 3rd set of protective mudflaps and the ARB price list noted that the steps were not compatible with SLS equipped vehicles. I therefore did a bit of research to make sure I could still retain the mud flaps as they used the same chassis mounting holes as the steps. After looking at a couple of cars that had them fitted, reading the fitting instructions and googling this site, I worked out that with a bit of fiddling and maybe custom bracket it could be done.
Anyway it appears that ARB have changed the design of the steps and the rear mounting bracket is now a simple right angle plate. This makes mounting the SLS mud flaps a simple bolt on exercise. Just drill out the holes in the mud flaps and buy slightly longer 30mm Bolts (instead of the 25mm supplied).
I'm using the supplied washers to secure the mud flaps, but it would be a simple exercise to make a strip steel plate top replicate the original mounting bracket.
