    instrument lights

Does the D2 (1999) have a dimmer for the dash lights and if so where is it?
Just shows how much night driving I don't get to do these days.

Yes and no. I don't think any Australian market D2's were fitted with it - maybe the ES/HSE were.

So yes it can be but no it doesn't have one.

The wiring diagram marks the dimmer as "Japan Only". The control is the same part number as the Disco 1 dimmer (AMR2745) so it would really depend on whether the harness is in place, or alternatively can be fabricated.

On the non-japan harness pins C0759-12 and C0759-13 are jumpered.

The japanese harness places the dimmer between C0759-11 and C0759-13.

It looks like C0759-11 and C7059-12 are on the +12V supply, and C0759-13 is connected to all the switch illumination pins.

The three required connections run to the headers for the instrument panel, so it should be fairly straight forward to wire up.

    cheers
    Paul
