Are you sure the lock is unlocking...does the button raise when you press the fob or the dash button?
Seems unlikely...although stranger things have happened, that the handle mechanisms are suspect...especially both at once.
hi all
Front lhs door wont open, seems to be unlocking ok but I need to release the inner handle while the wife uses the outer one. Any thoughts before I pull the inner panel off
cheers

Pulled the trim off the door and had a peak. The lock was what I suspected at first even though it was acting as per normal, have even tried getting a mm or 2 more manually but to no avale. I have a sneaking sus****ion that something has come ajar in the mechanism itself, we all know how smooth the roads are up this way (broome). Have to leave it till I am back at work on tuesday now so I can access my torques bits.

Hey Robbie, I would hazard a guess and say a new latch assembly is required. they are a sealed unit, containing the latch and actuator all in one.
The only good thing is they aren't as expensive as buying a genuine D1 latch... but you still have to remove the window frame to get it out.

Just lift the window frame up, and leave the window behind, sitting there. Quite easy but time consuming, although I am getting quite quick at doing them now...
The Genuine Latch for a D1 is $200, so the D2 one that includes the actuator, is quite reasonably priced. Have you seen the costs of some of the Corolla, Nissan etc small car door latches and locks???And what about Mercedes Vito and Sprinter outer door handles??
LR's aren't that bad, really
