All bolts are "stretch" bolts. Trick is have they been torqued past the "Elastic" range.
Because of where they are and the consequences, a few bucks for new OEM bolts is the wise thing to do.

Hi all I am swapping an engine have read that the torque converter bolts are stretch bolts so should I replace them? Need to order today if I need them.

Karcraft haven't ever stocked them I don't think they are normally changed. Hmmm
Change the bolts, check the bolt head for makings dashes or numbers to determine the grade. With the diameter, length and number of threads you can get them from an industrial bolt supplier. The engine to torque convertor bolts are listed as a torque setting of 50Nm what size are they? An M10 x 1.5 grade 12.9 is around 50Nm torque.
Yep the more I think about it the more I think I need to change them.
Hello mattg
Did some research a while back before changing the auto in mine.
There is no need to get new bolts. A little medium strength loctite is all that is needed on the old bolts. The amount of torque on the bolts is hardly enough to 'stretch' them.
Got the info from a reliable Landy mechanic.
Famous last words but, mine is doing just fine...no issues.
Cheers,
Jason
They're not that tight by comparison. I change them as a habit but not really necessary. I also use ARP bolts but that's me.
Just size them and order from supplier. Usually rocket unfortunately. But Fabre Midel may have them as well, they're in Lakemba. Bit cheaper and nicer than boganville.
