A little more information is needed. A standard 2000 TD5 will not have a difflock. If it has been put in then wiring for the indictor may have been taken from the brake circuit.

So - do you have the diff lock activated or not.

    Cheers

1999 and early 2000 D2s had the centre diff lock complete with instrument panel indicator but no lever so required a 10mm spanner to engage.

It may be a blown brake light.

A blown brake light in my 2000 td5 did not show as a ctr diff lock light.

Could it be a short in the wiring that happens on deceleration, you know some sort of exposed wiring in the loom over the tranny due to vibration/ rubbing?

The diff lock switch and warning light were in place up until the CDL internals were removed sometime in after March 2001. Some workshop procedures required manual locking the cdl from under the vehicle. The owners manual contains a note that if the warning light is on after servicing that the owner need to return to the workshop immediately to have the "problem" rectified.

In this case I'd guess it is probably a blown fuse or globe on another circuit causing the problems.

    cheers
