Just my tuppance worth, and just to name drop a little, I've used and worked with pure race dampers that cost (at the time) $2750 each (Ohlins TT44) as well as Penske, Koni, Bilstein and even old F1 shocks from the seventies (Girlings ?)

IMO Koni road dampers are as good as anything. My preference is for the twin tube type as they can be re-valved/rebuilt.
Mono-tube road type Koni's, unlike mono-tube Bilsteins and race Koni's can't be re-valved/rebuilt, but this isn't a problem for the average user.
Twin tube Koni's often also allow slightly more wheel travel than their mono-tube counterparts.

    Bilstein are very good.

    Delphi/de Carbon are very good.

The Ultimate Suspension shocks (built in Sydney) are very good.

The biggest advantage for with with Koni is the rebound adjustability. If you run different springs from stock, drive in a different way or quite different terrain then these let you dial in exactly how it should be.

With Bilsteins you get exactly how they think it should be. Which in many cases is probably excellent, but in some cases not so much.

No. OMEs and whatever from the other one.

I have Terrafirma All Terrain on my D1 and they suck, it seems that every time I go through a pothole, the body is about to fall apart. There is just so much shatter. Some people used them in jungle expedition and they were fine, but that's only riding in a mud and soft soil, not a hard uneven and potholed asfalt. They were cheap $174 plus shipping, but now I have to pay twice.

I am going for Koni Heavy Track adjustable as I need something softer. I really want to keep all my teeth.

thanx for all the replies guys, very helpfull and I made the decission to get the Kony heavy track
decided to order through paddock as they were the cheapest I could find, half the price that Aussie suppliers want, how does that happen??GRRR I would much rather support a Aussie buisness but we just price ourselfs out of the market....

Any way after a couple of emails they tell me they can't ship to Aus. because of dangerous goods (compressed gas according to thier email) GRRRR again

Can anyone suggest another supplier that wont bend me over....

    Thanx again

Maybe Walker can chip in and tell us how he got Paddocks to ship the shockers to him?

I didn't have a problem and that was just a month ago.

I didn't ask any questions or ask for a shipping quote or anything. I just ordered online and let them sort it out. You take a chance in not knowing the shipping costs but Paddocks are usually pretty good and and if you don't ask questions they are less likely to question it.

When you think about it, all Koni are made overseas so they have to be shipped somehow.

I did the same and am very happy with the shockers. Got the +2 versions on SLS with 50mm lift. Shipping was not an issue.
