    Emergency Key Access

If one were to open the D2 door and start the engine by invoking the Emergency Key Access Code, should this permanently bypass the immobilisation or would it last for the one "get you home" journey only?

My thinking is to avoid paying $400 to replace my defunct spare key.

    Many thanks,
    Ten.

Last for as long as you like. It's not a single use operation.

By the way you purchase keys from os for roughly $160 plus another $50 to program, although there are some guys on here with the gear to program.

    Regards

Thanks Andrew. Does this mean that the door can then be opened with the key in the old fashioned way?

You will need to enter the EKA each time you want to disable the Alarm/Immobilizer.

This would were thin after a while, you can get a second hand key from the UK (check dates), for very little $$, and get it programmed - this would be the option I would take.

I just got a brand new spare key sorted and it cost about $200 incl postage from UK plus $90 to have it programmed.
