Have broken my 1/2 power bar now, ok to use heat? or is there some 'trick" to removing this. I dont have access to any air tools etc.

Do not use heat. You would have unstaked the driveshaft nut from the washer.. . The nut is torqued up to 490 NM, or 362 lbf ft. [ Do not re-use the nut.] Haynes owners workshop manual says, it may be necessary to prise out the centre of the roadwheel, refit the wheel, lower it to the ground, insert the socket, undo the nut. A long length of strong pipe helps. Bob [ Haynes workshop manual, coupled with the RAVE DVD, is invaluable]
