It doesn't take much to compress them. I managed to "straighten" one out (off a very slightly damaged bullbar) that was much like your passenger side one using a 10 ton porta-power. I think a replacement pair from ARB was about $350

Maybe the recovery points need to be at the same level as the winch fairlead (where ARB used to put them) so it doesn't lever the crush cans like what your pics show. I'm not convinced at all by the design of the ones that go directly to the chassis, there is a massive amount of leverage that does through them.
I recently priced up a set of crush cans from ARB (Complete fitting kit so cans and bolts)
Topped $500 :(
Best of luck mate.
The ARB Front Bar for the D2 2001 has steel replacement Crush Cans for the original alu' ones.
I hit a sumerged lump of rock I didnt think it was too hard but the boy reckoned it was, it was sufficient to compress the folds in the crash can on one side.
ARB quoted $80 and 4 to 5 weeks delivery, they have asked to see the crush can to ensure the correct ones are ordered.
I have had thoughts of removing the crush cans but I will be patient and fit the replacement crash cans when available, its a good safety feature.
The Avenger winch works well.

Hi Ollie
They are not a good safety device....they are a critical component of the bullbar fitment to ensure the correct deployment of your srs airbags in the event of a frontal collision. Remove them and your airbags may go off too early or too late....one way will make them useless and the other may kill you.....so my advice mate is don't remove them, and if they are damaged, fix them ASAP....it's your life, your kids/wife/mate..etc.
Cheers
Kev
What bigkevg said. They are critical for the computer system to correctly deploy all safety devises , Airbags and seatbelt pretension , at the correct intervals.
Thanks for the comments I did say in the post I will replace the crash cans.
The reason I decided on the ARB bar was that they had designed it for the vehicle and tested it.
Even though delivery took 2.5 months.
The reason for the post was on answer to the price and delivery question.
Thanks Bigkevg
Your post clearly reinforces the need to replace the crash cans.
