    Drivers door remote locking.

    Hi all

Last night my drivers door refused to unlock using the remote. Second button push opened the others and the door opens using the key and interior handle. Locks ok with the remote.

Searching the threads here it looks like I'm up for a new actuator, but when I was buying the car 9 mths ago it did the same thing and the dealer used a procedure involving the key and door lock and a set of movements/ timings which sorted the problem. It wasn't the immobiliser reset procedure but something different.

Does anyone know of this reset method?

    Cheers Steve.

Possibly the "Turn the key random times in the hope it will free the actuator up before I have to pay for a new one, ah there we go all working now sir" method?

Ah yes I have seen that method used before to great effect.

In this situation dealer tried it first and then rang mechanic who gave him instructions, which fixed the problem.

I'm not aware of some special procedure.

Was it the EKA code. It ticks all the boxes of your description.

    Key..check
    Door lock...check.
    Set of movements....check.

    Cross your fingers....check

    Maybe try that.

I'm definitely with you on the actuator ('door latch' is the corect part name though).

    Regards
    Andrew
