Hey Guys n Gals,
After searching for cargo drawers for my D2 and being blown away by the costs involved I decided to build a cheap set for myself. These drawers cost less than $100 and they are very basic in their design. I used two sheets of MDF (2400 x 1200), some piano hinge, screws, drawer handles, aluminium angle and some carpet. I removed the two seats in the rear cargo bay and cut everything in to suit. I have not fixed them to the vehicle but it would be easy enough to do using turnbuckles.
regards
Les.

A job well done. I'm not sure how MDF goes if wet, though. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Hey guys, thanks for your comments, I really appreciate them. I must be honest, when I designed the drawers the thought of crossing rivers and creeks didn't enter into the equation. I am too old now to tackle the big drives and flooded creeks so I will spend most of my time on the Tarmac. The drawers are for tools and a jack and so I don't have to unpack the cargo bay if I get a flat tyre. Thanks again.
Les.
Not bad at all!
Nice!
How much to knock me up a set?😉
or better yet ... Post up the plans and instructions?
I was looking at the Drifta drawers for nearly $1000 delivered!
