I recently had the same problem with the minister for war and finance's car. A hose had chafed through letting out the water very slowly. I fixed the problem by re plumbing the system with plain old aquarium air line that I had a heap of lying around. The Volvo had a huge in line filter that I left out, I think it acted as a kind of non return valve as well. Now there is a small pause until the h2o comes out. May be more of an issue with the D2 if your off road with a windscreen covered in mud though. Then you could try some (again) aquarium non return valves ( the sort that allows you to place the air pump below the water line to prevent back siphoning). Never tried it but it could work. Cheap fix too.

The washer jets are about $23 each and the hose which includes the non-return valve is about $22.

If you're feeling really cheap, you should be able to get those kind of parts from the UK cheap. Being that they're not critical engine components, I have no problem with cheap after market versions. But that's up to you.

I recently bought a new washer pump for my County. $116 from LR dealer. $16 from ebay UK. It's not genuine, but for a windscreen washer pump I couldn't care less....(unless it breaks next week).

Windscreen washers on a county?
Isn't that just your passenger hanging out the window with a paper towel?

Apparently LR Australia has substantially dropped the list price of a lot of products recently. It's worth checking as the price differential to UK pricing can be small enough that it disappears in the shipping charges.

TBH if I want parts ASAP (genuine or other), my go to place seems to be Karcraft in Sydney. Their prices are very good, express postage always gets me parts the next business day and they have almost everything you can imagine in stock. (Haven't had anything out of stock yet).

I've had a look at online prices, when you factor in freight it's about a dollar different.
I have to pick up my new airfilter anyway, might as well hand over some more money

My discovery had what looked like rubber stuck just prior to the jet, I think it might be green sludge compressed down.
